I really appreciate how the fashion scene is now growing and becoming to be recognised as something more than "a hobby", people are beginning to see how fashion can influence your everyday life, and how fun it can be! Especially since everyone is throwing back to the olden days, wearing the chokers, space buns and the stripe tops they used to wear.
Although my style have not changed much from the previous episode, but there are some things and current trends that I would like to highlight.
1. Angular Block Heels
These shoes reminds me of the shoes I used to put on my Barbie dolls. Honestly there is nothing to not love about them - they not only look cute, but they sure are comfortable. I have never been a fan of stilettos, but block heels? Yes, yes please.
2. Pantone Rose Quartz and Serenity
Or rather, pink and blue hues. There's something about wearing these 2 colour together - but not purple. Because of gender conditioning that we are exposed to since young, pink is often related to girls and blue for boys. But honestly pink was never my favourite colour, blue was. Therefore, wearing these 2 colours together makes me feel like a rebel against society's ridiculous rules even for colours.
3. Bomber Bomber Jackets
Outer wears are slowly becoming a staple in my life. I recently got myself 2 new bombers and they can easily go with anything! There are 2 main reasons why I love them (1) Pockets (2) Shape - helps to balance out my body proportions.
4. Tinted Sunglasses
These sunnies does little to no protection for your eyes, but dayumm it looks cool. If you ever wondered what it is like to look at the world with tinted lenses, imagine no more and get a pair of these.
5. Sandals and Socks
If we were to mention this combination in the past, my first reaction would be "O-biang" (singlish for outdated or not trendy). But surprisingly when paired correctly, it actually is quite comfy and aesthetically okay. Do you agree?
6. Other mini trends
(A) Anything faux fur
I have also been digging anything with faux fur, a continuation from my love for faux fur jackets in Episode 3. I mean especially the Rihanna fur slippers collection with Puma, aren't they just adorable?
(B) Elaborated eye make-up
(C) Layering shirt and dresses
(D) Chokers
And that is about it! Hope you got some inspiration. Although most of them are found on the runway, they can also be incorporated into our everyday wardrobe if you choose the right piece - colour, material and size play a big part in making your outfit look a-okay without looking too crazy. ;)
Love yourself and others,
X Sharleen
